Innovations in ITS for sustainable, safe, and equitable mobility

On May 1, 2024, the ERTICO Academy is organising a training session for a stimulating exploration of the latest advancements in Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS), hosted at Hacettepe University Tunçalp Özgen Congress and Cultural Center in Ankara, Turkey.

Distinguished experts, including Esma Dilek from ITS Türkiye and Dr. Tamara Djukic from ERTICO-ITS Europe, will set the stage with insightful opening remarks, followed by Dr. Itir Coskun of SWARCO delving into the pivotal role of ITS, Cooperative ITS (C-ITS), and Connected, Cooperative, and Automated Mobility (CCAM).

Next, Dr. Djukic will enlighten attendees on the intersection of ITS and mobility management within Sustainable Urban Mobility Plans (SUMPs), offering valuable perspectives on creating efficient, sustainable urban transportation systems.

After a brief coffee break, John Paddington Senior Manager at ERTICO will lead an engaging session on emerging Mobility as a Service (MaaS) models and their potential to revolutionize urban transportation.

The event will culminate in an open panel discussion, providing trainees with the opportunity to engage directly with the speakers. Moderated by a local representative, Dr. Itir Coskun, Dr. Tamara Djukic, and John Paddington will tackle pressing questions and foster a dynamic exchange of ideas on ITS deployment and its implications for sustainable, safe, and equitable mobility.

This training session sets the stage for the upcoming SUMMITS’24, “Leading the Digital Transformation of Transport with ITS,” starting right after, on May, 2nd at the Hacettepe University Tunçalp Özgen Congress and Cultural Center.

The ERTICO team composed by Dr Djukic, John Paddington, and ERTICO CEO & Vice President of the MaaS Alliance, Joost Vantomme will participate in SUMMITS’24, which aims to be the most comprehensive and rich-content event in Turkey with regard to smart mobility and transportation digitalization landscape, serving as a gateway to the world.
