ITS9: Information security, data protection and privacy

This course provides the necessary tools to address privacy concerns that arise from C-ITS equipped vehicles. It underlines, why data protection is a critical aspect of C-ITS and situates car data as personal data. It familiarises students with the key legal and political debates surrounding Data Protection in Europe, especially the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). It outlines, which tools can to be used from 2018 onwards to comply with European legislation and analyses existing cases of data protection in C-ITS-related services.
