ITS7: Cost-benefit analyses of ITS services

This course will provide an overview of cost-benefit analysis (CBA) in transport projects, focussing particularly on the deployment of C-ITS services. You will become acquainted with all the factors needed to generate and evaluate the costs and benefits ratio of a deployment scenario. You will learn key terminology associated with CBA and review case studies that will help with a better understanding of the advantages and limitations of CBA.

Four main topics will be tackled in this course:

• Definition of the costs and benefits of C-ITS
• Financing of C-ITS services
• Identification of the costs for instalment, operation and maintenance of C-ITS services
• Building of C-ITS on existing investments
